Validate an EU VAT identification number against the official VIES service (European Commission, keyless). Returns whether the number is currently valid and, where the member state discloses it, the registered trader name and address. The authoritative EU B2B/KYB check (e.g. for reverse-charge eligibility) — complements tax.vat-rates and the business.* registries.
/api/tax/vat-validatePAYMENT-SIGNATURE.The vat validate API is a pay-per-call tax endpoint built for AI agents and autonomous software. Validate an EU VAT identification number against the official VIES service (European Commission, keyless).
There is no signup and no API key. An agent (or any HTTP client) hits the endpoint, receives an x402 "402 Payment Required" challenge, signs a sub-cent USDC payment on Base or Solana, and retries — the data comes back on the paid request. That makes it a drop-in vat validate data source for an agent tool-use loop, an MCP host, or a backend that needs tax data on demand without onboarding to yet another vendor portal.
